PTA

Our parents are partners with us in the educational process.  We welcome and encourage parent involvement.  Our PTA is very active in supporting our school.  This involved group of parents arranges informative general meetings for parents, promotes both teacher and student appreciation activities, and assists wherever needed in enhancing and improving the educational climate of our school.

Mission Statement

The Mission of the PTA is threefold:

  • To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental bodies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children.
  • To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise, protect and prepare their children
  • To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this state.

SAC

The Wicklow Elementary School Advisory Council (SAC) represents a concerned and responsible group of parents/staff members who want our school to be the best that it can possibly become.  They address areas of concern and suggest ways to improve existing conditions.  Their positive support is both welcomed and needed.  The SAC is a volunteer group required by state law to provide parent/community input and communication.  The meeting dates are published in our activities calendar and everyone is welcome to attend.

Dividends

Our volunteer programs are conducted through the county-wide "Dividend Program." We do need help to provide extra learning activities for students and to help teachers so they can devote more time to students.  If you, or any of your friends or neighbors have free time and would like to work with children, let us know.  A special invitation will be sent home at the beginning of the school year. You do not have to have any special training or talent (we will provide in-service); just the desire to help. For more information click here to explore the Seminole County Dividends Web Site.

Extended Day Care Program

We would like to welcome you and your family to the Before and After School Child-Care Program. This program has been established to help meet the needs of quality day-care in this community.  The primary goal is to provide a safe, healthy, well-supervised, home-like environment for all children.  Children will be supervised by a trained child care giver. Children will engage in activities that will benefit them emotionally, physically, socially, and educationally. The Extended Day Care Program at Wicklow Elementary provides a wide variety of activities including snack time, organized playground games, supervised homework time, educational games, arts and crafts and special events.  The focus of the program content is intended to compliment the children's classroom experience, with age-appropriate activities and choices for children.  We also offer child care one hour before the school day begins. We will typically follow the school calendar and provide services during Early Release Days. This program is administered by the Seminole County Public School District and depends upon parents' fees for funding.  Fees should be paid in advanced on a bi-weekly basis.  No child will be allowed to begin a service period for which a payment has not been made.  Registration forms can be obtained in the front office.
